The world’s most expensive black diamond dress is valued at 3.5 million pounds it boasts 25 two carat black diamond’s adorning the peplum and a further 25 two carat black diamond’s adorning the shoulder shrug, the diamonds actually frame the shoulder line, the bustier part of the dress as a centre piece of five carats of black diamonds and the dress weights a staggering 13kg’s and has above 6 months’ worth of hand finished detail.

The dress is embellished in intricate fine beading and delicate pointer white diamonds set in white gold with a very fine chain mail detail to add a little more individuality.  It was showcased internationally throughout 2012 in glamorous destinations such as Monaco, Moscow, Ukraine, Dubai and Mumbai. The official launch was in Monaco at billionaires club in June last year.

The dress received massive media coverage internationally we had front page news in the US, India and china, we have even had coverage as far as Australia, televisions coverage from access Hollywood, E! Entertainment and even the BBC News.  The dress has appeared in above 100 luxury, lifestyle and fashion publications.  The dress even shot a campaign with Rolls Royce at the fabulous stoke park last autumn.

Later this year 2013 the worlds most expensive black diamond dress will be given to GOSH-great olmond street hospital and will be auctioned off at the end of the year gala, unfortunately the worlds most expensive black diamond dress will have most of its diamonds removed as they aren’t Debbie winghams to give but  it will have a real diamond centre piece. And of course the exciting story which we hope will raise enough at auction to renovate one of the wards within great olmond street hospital.

Swiss watchmaker Rolex has more than a few important timekeeping models to its name, perhaps none more closely linked to pop culture than the Cosmograph Daytona, which was introduced in 1963. To celebrate 50 years of this enduring work of 20th century horology, Rolex has released a new model in 2013 featuring a case and bracelet in 950 platinum, an ice-blue dial and a brown monobloc Cerachrom bezel; the movement remains the automatic in-house calibre 4130 chronograph with column wheel. This is the first time a Daytona has been offered in full platinum.

Dimensions (40mm) and all other details remain unchanged from the Daytona models of recent years.  Rolex confirms that it has not introduced any specific anniversary cues here such as design elements in green, as it has been known to do for proper anniversary models. As you might imagine, an all-platinum watch is quite hefty; Rolex tells us that the watch weighs approximately 280 grams or more than a quarter of a kilogram. In relatively accessible terms, that is more than a quarter pounder from McDonald’s.

After the recent opening of the new Dolce Gabbana store and the annoucement of the future Valentino flagship, Fifth Avenue in New York is welcoming Ralph Lauren, the company confirming the opening of a new flagship at 711 Fifth Avenue between 55th and 56th streets. The new Ralph Lauren on Fifth Avenue which will cover 3.400 sqm will actually occupy the former Disney space, the opening being estimated for Spring 2014. This would be the second major flagship of Ralph Lauren in New York, after the one inaugurated 2 years ago on Madison Avenue.

Ascot Racecourse, England Known for being closely related to the British Royal Family, Ascot Racecourse hosts the Royal Ascot, which consists of 24 major races in the course of four days in June and is the year’s centerpiece. Meydan Racecourse, Dubai Home of the Dubai World Cup, Meydan Racecourse has plenty of private viewing options, like the Meydan Grandstand’s Suites. Del Mar Racetrack, California Found just 20 miles north of San Diego, the Del Mar Racetrack was built by a famous partnership including Bing Crosby, actor Pat O’Brien, Jimmy Durante, Charles S. Howard and Oliver Hardy. With a celebrity-rich history it should come as no surprise that the Del Mar track has some pretty great Celebrity Suites, found on the fifth floor of the grandstand, overlooking the finish line. The climate controlled suites (each named after a famous personality, including Bing Crosby and Betty Grable) feature a private cocktail bar, mutuel clerks, television monitors, open onto a balcony that overlooks the saddling paddock and walking ring, and are able to accommodate up to 48 people. Prices range from $1,100 a day to $1,500 a day. The Luxury Suites can be found in the Turf Club, which gives a bird’s-eye view of the race track and can accommodate up to 25 people. Featuring an expansive beverage and food selection, a private cocktail bar, a stand-alone mutuel machine and television monitors, these suites aim to give you everything you need. Since only one Luxury Suite is available per day, you may want to reserve one ahead of time, which will cost you up to $1,750. Skyrooms are also available, which are found on the sixth floor and give panoramic views. Each room features a private balcony, cocktail bar, and an array of buffet menus. Unlike the Luxury Suites, the Skyrooms have no dress code so you can decide how casual or dressy you are. Prices range from $1,400 to $3,500, depending on how many people are in your party and which day you choose.

The hotel would never boast about it but a number of celebrities choose this as their hotel of choice when in Sydney. The Sydney Suite at the Park Hyatt is available for $16k per night and is apparently Sydney’s most expensive suite.  This two bedroom suite boasts a view of the opera house from most of the rooms including while relaxing in the spa!  The hotel itself was renovated late 2011 so the look is sleek, modern and up-to-date. The hotel offers seamless luxury for the most discerning guest.

As far as I was concerned “glamping” still meant camping so there was no way I would put a tent resort on a luxury list…until I saw this one. It puts many hotels to shame! Set at the gateway to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park the accommodation offers you your own private views of the sun rising and setting over Uluru. There are only 15 tents at the resort which makes the experience an almost completely private and personal one. The resort has a 24 hour bar and offers the option of a fine dining under the stars. This resort really is something special.  It is regularly ranked on luxury hotel lists worldwide too so it’s not just me who thinks so.  The resort offers a number of rooms, villas and suites with The Pavillion being the premier suite. For around $3,419 per night you can enjoy the 270 degree panoramic views of Anchor Bay, Osprey Island and Sunset Beach. There is expansive decking and a daybed area including a delightful plunge pool.

Silk walls and a four poster bed in the bedroom give the illusion of staying in another time. And it’s rumoured he baby grand piano in the suite has been played by many of the greats including Elton John, Keith Urban and Justin Timberlake. Make sure you take time to soak in the spa and enjoy the striking view of the river. The suite starts from $4k per night or these is an amazing High Life package for $10k a night.

Although luxurious throughout, the outrageous luxury really begins on floor 30 of this hotel as that’s where the villa accommodation begins. This hotel won the 2012 Gourmet Traveller Award for Best Large Luxury Hotel (readers’ choice).  Its return to the forefront of the luxury hotel market is attributed to the 2011 refurbishment of the hotel including the palatial Chairman’s Villa. This villa is more than 1000m^2, includes a butler service available 24/7 and goes for more than $27k per night.
